STOKE PRIOR DOG TRAINING CLUB

Stoke prior Dog Training Club started approximately 30 years ago with just a few members training for competitive obedience. We had many enquiries about pet training classes which we started about 20 years ago and they have proved to be very successful. The club aims to make dog training fun and many people say how much they enjoy a night out with their dogs. The methods used are very much aimed at play and motivation, but also explaining the need for consistency.

A few years ago Hollytrees Animal Rescue Trust (HART) had a fire at their premises which caused a lot of damage and some fatalities. I have known Ray Dedicoat for many years and wanted to help, so we arranged a sponsored stay at Stoke Prior and together with other local clubs raised nearly £4,000.00 towards this worthy cause.

Recently some members took part in a display at a local church fete which turned out better that we expected it to. Bless the dogs as they didn’t let us down!!! We were given a donation that again was sent to Ray for all the good work he does.

In 2004 we held a fun night for dog club members only and raised £200 for Wythall Animal Sanctuary and at our annual Christmas party we raised another £150 for the Obedience UK Fund who helped with D'Arcy's veterinary fees.
